Radioinformant (Ep. 6): IIHF World Championship Elite 2017 (part 1 of 2 - Paris)

After hiatus it's time to return "Radioinformant". This will be real treat for ice hockey fans. IIHF World Championship Elite 2017 will be hosted from 5th to 21st May 2017 by France and Germany, so Paris and Cologne respectively. Firstly will be about Paris, capital city of France. I'll show you how to receive in this city?

3rd stage of analogue FM radio switch-off in Norway

On 26 April 2017 at 11:11:11 (5 days after 2nd stage become finished) in counties Buskerud, Hedmark, Oppland and Telemark will begin the next stage of analogue FM radio broadcasting switch-off starting with NRK public radio programmes and will finish on 16 June 2017 after 10:00 AM with nationwide commercial radio programmes P4 and Radio Norge.
UPDATE: Unceratinly, NRJ Roeyken og Hurum also will switch-off analogue FM radio on 16 June 2017.

The final stage of Raw Air 2017 is Vikersund. This is 4th and final part that I'll inform to the ski jumping fans how to receive radio stations in Vikersund, Modum kommune (municipality), Buskerud fylke. Additionally Vikersund is located at 10th meridian east.

Radioinformant (Ep. 2): Raw Air 2017 (part 1 of 4 - Oslo)

In March after Nordic Skiing World Championship 2017 in Lahti, for the fans of ski jumping, it's time to 1st edition of Raw Air which will be held from 10 to 19 March 2017.
In which cities will be Raw Air events? The answer is:

• 10-12 March 2017 - Oslo
• 13-14 March 2017 - Lillehammer
• 15-16 March 2017 - Trondheim
• 17-19 March 2017 - Vikersund

Radioinformant (Ep. 1) : Nordic Skiing World Championship 2017 in Lahti

From 22 February to 5 March 2017 in Lahti, Päijät-Häme, Finland will be held Nordic Skiing World Championship 2017. In the first episode of new series "Radioinformant" which I'll inform about upcoming important events in Europe (not only), especially sports (i.e. UEFA Champions League Final). Let's get to Lahti which will be held as mentioned Nordic Skiing World Championship.

2nd stage of analogue FM radio switch-off in Norway

On 8 February 2017 at 11:11:11 in counties Møre og Romsdal, Nord- and Sør-Trøndelag began the next stage of analogue FM radio broadcasting switch-off with NRK public radio programmes and will finish on Friday, 21 April 2017 with commercial radio programmes inc. P4 and Radio Norge and few local radio stations from Trondheim, the city known from the winter sports events. Moreover earlier, Radio Rock and Radio 1 Hits (both from Trondheim) were switched-off on 31 December 2015 due to budget savings as well as Radio Metro Trondheim 7 months later. So as mentioned at the beginning that on 8 February 2017 at 11:11:11 NRK radio programmes will be switched-off during Digital Radio Summit in Geneva, Switzerland.
UPDATE: Switch-off event took place at the Tyholt Tower in Trondheim and was broadcasted live on NRK website and on Facebook.

Why ORF is very radically opposed to DAB+? What will be possible consequences? Truths about e-radio weaknesses

When Austria has already decided on the choice of a standard digital radio. Then selected DAB+ as digital radio standard. There was an extremely fierce criticism from Alexander Wrabetz, General Director of ORF which is serving uniterruptible since 2007 which claims that future of radio is only on Internet and the mobile devices, so ORF strongly boycotts DAB+ which according to Wrabetz, it wasn't successful in many European countries. In my opinion, Wrabetz opinions are completely lying and hypocritical. Nevertheless, radio channels of ORF such as Oe1, Radio Tirol, Hitradio Oe3 and FM4 are broadcast on DAB+ on the RAS network in South Tirol, Italy and can be also received in the Italian-Austrian border area.
