BBC Radio nan Gàidheal is a Scottish radio station of BBC Scotland that broadcasts in Scottish Gaelic. History of Scottish Gaelic programming dates back to 1923, then in 1935 as BBC Gaelic-language department was estabilished. In 1976 BBC Radio Highland produced a range of Gaelic programming as BBC Radio na Gaidhealtachd and on 5 October 1979 (Friday) in Stornoway estabilished the Scottish Gaelic service as BBC Radio nan Eilean.
